They ask Spain to extradite a businessman from Mendoza who was arrested for fraud

Mendoza's judge requested his extradition Rodrigo Simonea local businessman was arrested in Spain on charges of multiple frauds in the sale of land to build houses in Russell, Maipu.

At the request of the First Collective Court, Simone was detained in the municipality of Lloret del Mar, located in Catalonia, Spain, on January 2 of this year, after the Mendoza Ministry of Justice requested his international arrest on December 29.

In its argument for Simone's repatriation, the document states:It should be noted that ten acts attributed to the accused are legally classified as fraud (Article 172 of the Penal Code) and that it has been effectively proven that he did not comply with the basic obligations imposed on him at the time he was awarded the sentence. Maintaining freedom, unless he did so, “not only did he not maintain his fixed address, but he evaded the measures taken against him, and left the country despite his knowledge of the duty to be present at every summons issued to him.”.

The businessman was trustee of a trust that sold parcels of land in the Russell area, which did not include the building facility. Simone sold plots of 600 square metres, while the minimum dimensions allowed by the municipality were 2,000 square metres.

On the other hand, the lawyer of the fraudulent trust administered by Simone was Fernando Vásquez Vera, who, although he was the person who had to protect the legality of the operation, was not under the scrutiny of justice. The lawyer is the husband of a senior official in the prosecutor's office.
