A shocking discovery: a crocodile killed a woman while guarding her body

A woman was attacked by a crocodile while she was walking her dogs and authorities were reported missing by the family.

That morning, the police received a complaint about a possible crocodile attack in the neighborhood of Spanish Wells, in Beaufort County (USA), after the woman’s dogs returned from her home without her.

They went to the area to check the complaints, and upon their arrival, they found the woman’s body on the shore of the lake, already lifeless.

What took them by surprise, however, was the animal that appeared almost immediately, which not only prowled the area, but was also seen guarding the victim’s body.

“Rescue missions were carried out, and while this was happening, an alligator appeared, guarding the woman the entire time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. They added that the presence of the reptiles “has disrupted emergency efforts”.

Finally, the crocodile, about three meters long, was taken out of the area and sacrificed. Rescuers progressed with resuscitation efforts, but nothing could be done for the woman. His body was taken to the morgue, according to reports, where an autopsy will take place.
