WhatsApp has been changing since March with an update to use Signal and Telegram

On March 6, the Digital Markets Act (DMA) will come into effect in Europe, which means that many apps will have to make changes to many of their policies to operate in this region. In the case of WhatsApp, several modifications are already in the works and one of them will allow the platform to connect other messaging apps, such as Signal or Telegram.

All of these new features are under development and were discovered in an Android test app. So there is still no release date for all users, but we do know several details about how it will work.

One of the notable upcoming modifications is the possibility of integrating the Meta platform with chats from third-party applications. In the beta version of WhatsApp, you can see a first vision of how this functionality will be implemented.

The chat info screen under development will show which third-party apps the chat link will be compatible with. It is important to note that Instagram is given as an example in the development version, although it is not listed as a third-party app in the integration plans, as it belongs to the same parent company.

The option will allow you to see the complete list of other platforms to which it can be linked and do all the management to use it according to the user's convenience, so it will have a button to deactivate it.

While there is no official release date, Since the law has entered into force in Europe, this functionality is expected to arrive very soon.

Users outside this part of the world will not experience changes to their accounts unless local authorities adopt regulations similar to those imposed by the European Union.

Regarding interconnection limitations with other applications. In the beta version, they found that groups will not be available in links with third parties, as well as calls and video calls. Therefore, in practice, the matter will be limited to personal chats. Although this is a beta version, there may be changes regarding the official launch time or in future updates.

The application already has a function through which users will have the opportunity to enter the exact date And write the content they are looking for so they can find it more easily in individual and group chats.

This function is available on Android and iOS phones, Mac computers and in the web version. To search for content, you must follow these steps:

• Go to the chat in which we want to search for content on WhatsApp.
• Click on the profile picture.
• The search box will appear below User Information. Click there.
• The search engine will open and a calendar icon will appear in the upper right corner. Pressing it will activate the function.
• We have to choose the date on which the content we are looking for was sent and add next to it the keyword to find it in the chat.

This will be enough for the application to jump to the selected day and search for the word or phrase that we have reviewed. Although it is not currently possible to specify a range of several days, so we will have to know the exact day on which the content was sent or received.
