INTA and Science Week in Jujuy

With the aim of presenting research and discussing scientific and technological developments with local communities on October 4 and 5 from 9 am to 4 pm, Science Week In Hornillos and Abra Pampa, With leadership Inta.

Quebrada Circuit

I organized it IPAF NOA, AER Hornillos, AER Humahuaca, Posta de Hornillos Museum, Science Week was opened with the “Quebrada de Humahuaca” circuit. The same is done on the Puna circuit led by the EEA Abra Pampa.

The Quebrada de Humahuaca Circuit is held in Hornillos and offers two spaces to explore and establish links with various scientific and technological development institutions. On the one hand, the IPAF NOA building, where there are parking lots for some scientific institutions and projects of the province, such as the Laguna de los Pozuelos Natural Monument (APN) and a large number of institutes associated with the National University of Jujuy. and CONICET, such as the Faculty of Engineering, the Institute of Andean Ecological Areas (INECOA), the Institute of Cellular Genetic and Molecular Studies (ICEGeM), the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Jujuy Cientifica, and the Center for Studies in the Development of Family Farming.

In addition, IPAF NOA engages, through all its lines of research, by showcasing its work either in its laboratories, in the demonstration area, or in educational talks. In the lobby of the headquarters, the Gogoi Scientific Project is displayed, which collects summaries of various scientific research in Gogoi District.

There is, too A place designated for boys and girls, with recreational activities and educational games. The meeting space is a cycle of conversations in which some of the institutions already mentioned participate, as well as the Institute of Plant Physiology (INFIVE) CONICET – National University of La Plata, the Interdisciplinary Tilcara Institute of the FFyL of the UBA, and the AJIA (Indigenous Women’s Network on Biodiversity in Latin America and the Caribbean and Higher Technical in Regional Cuisine and American Culture at the Institute of Higher Education No. 2. Likewise, the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) and the Seed and Water Harvesting Network.

On the other hand, tours are organized through animal and plant production laboratories, and talks are held on these topics. Another point of interest is the meteorological station and solar measuring station owned by IPAF NOA.

The second space is organized in IPAF NOA experimental field, At the AER Hornillos and in the courtyard of the Posta de Hornillos Museum. On an engaging tour, technological developments in silos, fodder, Creole goats, pasture management, electric cows, sprinkler irrigation, renewable energy, beekeeping, agroecology, drip irrigation, sausages, greenhouses, garlic varieties, rural change, machinery, the solar cheese vat and the value-added plant for quinoa.

In addition to Producers from Puna, Quebrada and Valles, and other interested people, students from Agrotécnica de Cieneguillas, from the Puno district of Santa Catalina, came to Hornillos. Also from Polimodal de Huacalera, Purmamarca High School, Agrotécnica de Hornillos, Nazareth Institute of Córdoba Province, among others.

Science Week in INTA Puna and Quebrada Circuits

Pune circuit

EEA Abra Pampa research teams, together with its extension agencies, present their daily work on innovation in agricultural production. On the other hand, it shows the meteorological station, its measuring tools, meteorological variables, and their applications in agriculture. Agricultural production facilities and equipment such as cultivators, drip irrigation, cycling, solar livestock farming, corn fodder and agricultural by-products are also on display.

Likewise, developments in mechanical shearing in fires, good practices for animal care, wool conditioning and sampling are evident. Regarding livestock management, topics related to llama production, animal health, health monitoring and animal nutrition of llama supplements are presented.

You can visit animal and plant production laboratories. In addition, there are sausage-making workshops and an audio-visual exhibition: Research and Communication for Transformation.

Nearly 100 students from various aviation arts schools and institutes of Pune departments visit the exhibition.
