From September 29 to October 2, the second forum will be held as part of the development plan A New Social and Environmental Contract for Bogotá in the XXI Century for the Mayor’s Office, which will be in person for the first time.

The Second International Forum Respira el Arte, an initiative of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes-Idartes, became the center of discussions on the present and future of a network of sustainable scenarios in Bogotá. The meeting took place under the principles of “Changing Life Habits to Green Bogota, Mitigating Climate Change and Making the Bogota Region a Model for Multimodal, Inclusive and Sustainable Mobility”.

The project is part of Development Plan A New Social and Environmental Contract for Bogotá in the Twenty-first Century for the Mayor’s Office. The counting took place in the presence of the young environmentalist Francisco Vera, who left a powerful message: “Go from dream to action,” in order to apply the knowledge and reflections that arose from there.

In 2020, the first forum meant creating spaces for dialogue between environmental and clean energy professionals with artists and cultural directors. It was the first step towards the goal of transforming Jorge Eliécer Gaitán’s Theatre, Gaitán Hall, Bogotá Planetarium, La Media Torta Open Air Theatre, El Parque, Mobile Stages, El Ensueño and El Parqueadero. and the Bogotá Cinematheque and the Santa Fe Gallery in spaces that contribute to reducing the carbon footprint, building cordial relationships between artists, citizens and nature, and tilting circular economy systems within the arts value chain.
