The US government will resume lifting the obligation to wear a mask on transportation

The US government reported Wednesday 20th that it will appeal a ruling that overturned a federal decision requiring the mandatory use of chin straps on public transportation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And the French news agency quoted the ministry’s spokesman, Anthony Cooley, as saying that the Department of Justice “has submitted an appeal.”

The official said the appeal was filed after the government network of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ruled that the obligation to wear face masks “remains necessary to protect public health.”

A federal judge rescinded the obligation to wear a mask on public transportation last Monday, after Congress decided last week to extend it until May 3.

After the ruling, air, rail and road carriers announced that the use of masks in their cars had become optional.
