This ‘ICA Educa’ activity is aimed at schoolchildren aged 6-12 and explores in an educational and playful way how biology influences art.

On Saturday 23 December, the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA) celebrates the final edition of the “Science in Art” course of the Center for Documentation and Advanced Studies of Contemporary Art (Cendeac) which shows boys and girls how biology is present in art.

This activity by Cedeac School is part of the “ICA Educa” program and is aimed at school children aged 6 to 12 years. In it, the presence of physics, mathematics and chemistry in art was explored in an educational and playful way, and the course concluded with a session dedicated to biology.

“We are concluding this quarter’s activities of the ‘ICA Educa’ programme, the mediation program through which we bring the world of contemporary art closer to the world,” noted the Director General of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Manuel Cibrian. All residents, and dozens of people participated. Our goal is to encourage critical thinking and enjoyment of art, while encouraging creativity.

In this final session of the Science in Art course, participants will be able to see how creative people are inspired countless times by living elements to create their works and even use living elements in them.
