Buba Chile congratulates Vicente Almonacid, Chilean flag bearer at the Parapan American Games – G5noticias

The winner, who has been named the 2022 Paralympic ‘Best of the Best’, recently won silver in the 100m breaststroke at the UK Para Swimming World Cup.

The athlete is part of the Bupa Chili Team, an initiative through which the company seeks to promote inclusion through sporting activity.

Swimmer Vicente Almonacid has been selected by the Chilean Paralympic Committee (COPACHI) as one of the Chilean flag bearers at the Parapan American Games that will be held during the month of November in our country. In this way, the current vice world champion in the 100m breaststroke will lead the national delegation of Paralympic athletes, along with tennis player Tamara Leonelli, at the opening ceremony that will take place on 17 November.

Al-Monasid is considered one of the most prominent Paralympic athletes in the country. Last August, he was crowned Vice-World Champion of Paralympic Swimming in Manchester, United Kingdom, in the 100-meter breaststroke (SB8 category), and only one year ago, when the World Championships were held. He played in Portugal and won a gold medal. Additionally, at the 2019 Parapan American Games, he won a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke (SB8 class), silver in the 200m individual medley (SM8 class), and bronze in the 50m freestyle (S8 class). For all these achievements, in 2022 he was awarded the “Best of the Best Paralympic Games”, an award given by the Sports Journalists Service.

The Paralympic swimmer is part of Team Bupa Chile, a Bupa initiative that seeks to promote healthy living, inclusion, promote values ​​associated with sports, and support Paralympic athletes in preparation for various competitive events.
