With the completion of the eighth day of the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory, the local press published the first photos of the largest aircraft in the world, the Antonov 225, which was bombed by the army of Vladimir Putin.

The plane, whose name is translated into Spanish, “Dream”, is 84 meters long and weighs about 285,000 kilograms. She had the ability to reach a speed of 850 km / h.

An Antonov 225 was destroyed by the Russians at an airport near Kyiv, as confirmed by the Ukrainian government itself.

The loss of the massive aircraft was confirmed by satellite images from Maxar Technologies, which showed significant damage to part of the hangar where the AN-225 is stored.

Among its main functions, the Antonov 225 was prepared for the transport of commercial and military cargo, and its size and speed made it a viable alternative to sea and rail transport. Specialists acknowledge that “the device specializes in transporting” energy production systems, electric generators and fuel for nuclear power plants.

Regarding the destruction, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba noted: “Russia may have destroyed our ‘Maria’. But they can never destroy our dream of a strong, free and democratic European state.”
