Governor Torres with the US Ambassador

Chubut State Governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torres on Wednesday accompanied the US Ambassador to Argentina, Mark Stanley, on his visit to production projects in Sarmiento.

During the activity that took place this afternoon in the town located in the south of the governorate, they both held a meeting to evaluate potential investments in productive matters and potential commercial cooperation agreements.

In this matter, the President expressed his appreciation for the presence of the North American diplomat in Chubut and noted that the meeting aims to enhance and strengthen cooperation and exchange relations between our province and the United States of America.

Likewise, the two officials exchanged their views on the productive potential of Chubut and agreed on the need to ensure greater dialogue between all actors, to promote the overall development of the province and the country.

And in another part of the meeting Torres expressed concern about solving the problem of illegal fishing in a strategic region like Patagonia. The President explained that work is currently underway on a coordinated plan to defend sovereignty, nurture resources, and enhance port infrastructure.

Visit production facilities

Stanley was specially invited by businessman Alejandro Bulgeroni, owner of productive enterprises in the city of Sarmiento. Accompanied by Governor Torres, they toured the southernmost vineyards, cherry farms, packinghouse and winery in the world.

The local mayor, Sebastian Palucci, also participated in this activity; Officials from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA/APHIS) and SENASA representatives from the Northern Patagonia delegation.
