Within the framework of the National Congress of the Argentine Federation of Family and General Medicine held in the Posadas Knowledge Park, the Regional Program for Responsible Sexual Health and Reproduction conducted theoretical and practical training on placement and removal of the dual penile implant.
The training was carried out by the Regional Program Officer, Ms. Norma Meno, together with the SSyR of the ENIA Plan composed of Ms. Nayla Martinez, Dr. Liliana Arce, Rodrigo Barreiro, and the Metropolitan General Medicine Residence. region.
With the conviction to further strengthen primary care in services related to sexual and reproductive health counseling and long-term contraceptive methods, medical professionals from different provinces of Argentina were trained and were present at the conference: Lomas de Zamora PBA, CABA, Unquillo Córdoba, Río Gallegos Santa Cruz, San Julian Santa Cruz, Reconquista Santa Fe, Cordoba Capital, 9 de Julio Buenos Aires, Union, San Luis, Catamarca Capital, Salta, El Superbio and Jardin America Misiones. There they were able to learn technical information about implanting second rods, how to conduct pre-consultation and subsequent placement of the contraceptive method, as well as practice its correct extraction. Practices were carried out on the simulation arms to gain the necessary experience to care for future users who arrive at health centers and request this contraceptive method.
All of this adds up to a comprehensive approach to health to ensure the delivery of sexual and reproductive health services to adolescents and women in general who require a long-term approach in a safe and friendly environment, where autonomy is respected and privacy and confidentiality are guaranteed, responds to their needs and allows them to receive scientifically validated information, as well as to participate. and decide on issues affecting their health and ensure access to informed decision making.
