Experiments at IES Sierra de Ayllón on the occasion of Science Day

IES ‘Sierra de Ayllón’, through the Department of Physics and Chemistry, organized Science Day once again, coinciding with the celebration of Saint Albert the Great, the patron saint of chemists. A day that seeks to promote and stimulate students’ interest in science and the experimental scientific field.

Science Day was held last November 15 with a programming of workshops, experiments and demonstrations whose common theme was: “The Magic of Science.” The convocation was organized as an exhibition that brought together first-year ESO students from the Ayllón Institute and its Riaza department around blackboards, formulas, equations, test tubes and test tubes.

Fourth-year ESO students in Science and Diversification and first-year Baccalaureate students in the Science stream were teachers during one day, directly explaining and demonstrating different experiments to younger first-year ESO students, and developing theoretical and practical workshops delving into different scientific fields. Young people conducted experiments, exhibitions and demonstrations under suggestive titles such as “Blue Bottle”, “Angry Volcanoes”, “Jumping Balls”, “Black Snakes” or “Flash Bulb”.

The science pattern is an inspiration for the activities carried out in this edition of the Science Day at IES de Ayllón and in previous editions. A celebration made possible thanks to the participation of teachers and students in the fourth year of compulsory secondary education and the baccalaureate. The Institute thanks the educational community for the success of the day.
