USA wins three golds in canoe slalom

Santiago de Chile, October 29 (EFE).- The United States added three more gold medals to its tally this Sunday with the canoe slalom in the men’s C1 categories and the men’s and women’s K1 categories, in the whitewater events at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, contested On the Aconcagua River, 100 kilometers from the Chilean capital.

In the men’s C1 category, American Zachary Loken won, confirming what was accomplished in Lima 2019, where he also won the gold medal, while the silver went to Brazilian Cua da Silva and the bronze went to Paraguayan Leonardo Corcel.

In women’s canoe, part of the podium finish was repeated from the edition four years ago, with the gold medal for Brazilian Ana Satella and the silver for Canadian Louis Betteridge. Bronze went to Paraguayan Ana Paula Fernandez.

In the women’s K1 category, American Ivy Liebfarth also confirmed her performance in Lima 2019 by returning to the top of the podium, followed by Brazilian Omera Nita in second place and Canadian Lea Baldoni in third place.

In the men’s kayak category, American Joshua Joseph won the gold medal, while Brazilian Pedro Goncalves, who won the silver medal four years ago, won. Canadian Mile Rivard won bronze.
