British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced on Thursday that Temporary freezing of energy bills of consumers annually 2500 pounds (€2874) for two years from 1 October.

In an address to the (lower) House of Commons, the new chief executive said her new energy plan would give “certainty” to citizens and “boost economic growth”.

Truss, who took over the reins of the British government last Tuesday after the resignation of Boris Johnson, detailed these measures in order to counteract the impact of the noticeable increase in energy prices and its impact on citizens, as bills were expected to suffer. An increase of 80% since October.
