MSF says supplies are “extremely low” at Gaza Central Hospital

Fuel and medical supplies at Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in the central Gaza Strip have reached “extremely low levels” due to road closures, Doctors Without Borders said in a social media post on Wednesday.

“There are now 700 patients admitted to the hospital and new patients are constantly arriving. We are running out of basic supplies to treat them,” says Marie-Uri Piriot-Rival, MSF’s emergency coordinator in Gaza.

Doctors Without Borders also reiterated its call for a ceasefire and the entry of aid into “the Gaza Strip as a whole.”

Video clips and witness accounts indicated that multiple attacks occurred in the Deir al-Balah area in central Gaza on Tuesday, during which many victims were transferred to Al-Aqsa Hospital.

Hospital spokesman Dr. Khalil Al-Dakran told CNN that more than 90 bodies arrived at the facility on Tuesday, in addition to 130 injured people.

He added, “Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is the only hospital in the central region and it cannot accommodate this large number of people, especially with the continuing massacres against our people.”

The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza said on Wednesday that 73 bodies and 123 wounded had been transferred to Al-Aqsa Hospital in the past 24 hours.
