More than three weeks after announcing that the Canadian government had obtained approval to implement the third phase of the special project Chavimochic (La Libertad), Ministry of Agricultural Development (Medagry) She reported, through Supreme Decree No. 002-2024-MIDAGRI, that they will officially sign the state-to-state contract.

As stipulated in the decree, the Government of Peru allowed Medagry to implement the necessary procedures for the formalization and proper implementation of the state-to-state agreement with Canada for the development of the irrigation project.

As reported, on January 15, the Prime Minister, Alberto Otarola, announced the country that would implement Čavemuček IIIWith investments amounting to about 750 million US dollars, after seven years of paralysis.

This project will allow Peruvian products to be evaluated in various international markets, benefiting the agricultural sector in the north of the country.

This third phase will seek to improve irrigation of 48,000 hectares of crops and integrate 63,000 hectares of agricultural land, which is expected to generate More than 150 thousand productive job opportunities.

This project includes the completion of the Palo Redondo Dam, which will store approximately 401 million cubic meters, a 3.5 km Siphon Ferro line, and the automation of all major hydraulic infrastructure of the Chavimuchic project.
