Matias Celebrations launches a sporting event on Friday with the first edition of the San Mateo Olympic Boxing Cup. The festival starts at 8:00 pm and takes place at the Las Gaunas Sports Center in Logroño.

There will be twelve boxers taking part in this new sporting event and the poster contains five Olympic boxing matches and a sixth and final professional bout of six rounds in which the Brazilian boxer Ricardo “Matteo” Fernandez (IBO European Super Lightweight European Champion) will face off with the Venezuelan Sandro Hernandez.

In the press release provided by the organization, the President of the Rioja Boxing Federation, Sergio Torroba, highlighted the advantages of the Rioja boxer and noted that it is only fair that “Matteo enters the ring again in front of his fans, after having fought in competitions in France and the United Kingdom.” However, Teruba hopes that this edition will be “the first of many to come in the coming years” and will become a traditional event on these particularly festive occasions.

The final fight, consisting of six rounds, will pit Ricardo “Mateo” Fernandez with Venezuelan Sandro Hernandez.

The five fights will pit amateur boxers between Camilo Loaiza and Germán Fernandez; Abdul Alawi and Pablo Tovar; David Saenz with Kefele Oka; Bilal Azzi vs Luka Popukhidze and Yunot Kostin with Ayoub.

Among the winning boxers in these matches within this Olympic method, the best boxer in the tournament will be selected, who will receive a cup and a cash prize.
