KFC closes its restaurants due to chicken shortage in the UK

Fast food chain KFC has been forced to temporarily close hundreds of restaurants in the UK after a logistics attack halted chicken deliveries. About 800 of the company's 900 sites in Britain were closed as of midday on Monday. Some opened their businesses in the afternoon, according to the company's website, CNN reported. (YUM), said the chicken shortage was caused by “two emerging issues” with its new delivery partner, DHL (DPW). “We will not compromise on quality, so not delivering orders means some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating with a limited menu or shorter hours,” KFC said in a statement. DHL admitted that many of its deliveries were “incomplete or late” due to “operational issues”. The logistics company said it is working with KFC to resolve the issue. KFC switched suppliers from Bidvest Logistics to DHL last Wednesday. Bidvest said the transition, from his perspective, had been “seamless.”
