Iran rejects the “biased” UN resolution on the human rights situation in the country, which the UK is promoting, and asserts that it lacks “legal legitimacy”.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the actions taken by the British government and other promoters of this resolution, which is a clear example of the misuse of the lofty concepts and values ​​of human rights to promote short-sighted political motives, and considers this to be unjust,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatidzadeh, Friday. valid and without legal effects.

According to the Iranian spokesman, the draft resolution prepared by the United Kingdom and other Western countries repeats the same false accusations based on biased and misleading information, and that the document is part of a Western campaign to “hate and smear Iran” against Iran.

He denounced that “these countries, which have a long history of flagrant violations of human rights, including through the sale of arms to authoritarian regimes, occupiers and aggressors, have made human rights a means to further their political ambitions.”

He stressed that these countries cannot speak from the position of the plaintiff, but must be held accountable for their crimes in the field of human rights.
