Haas has introduced a special livery that will feature the cars of Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen on the team’s field this weekend.
Austin is one of three US events on the current Formula 1 calendar, along with Miami and Las Vegas (new for 2023).
To that end, in this competition and after previewing pilot divers last week, Haas has now revealed images of the VF-23 concept, which features a “Stars & Stripes” design that includes the team’s weekend slogan, “We the People,” which is the first line In the opening of the Constitution of the United States.
In addition, payments company MoneyGram will also celebrate its first anniversary as a major partner of Haas with an additional touch to the car’s livery, which will be revealed on the eve of the event on Thursday.
Meanwhile, there will be another star on the livery, with the bright yellow logo of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which Haas continues to work with, adorning the rear wing of the Hulkenberg and Magnussen cars.
On the sporting side, alongside its revamped look, Haas will also unveil a package of improvements at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Team principal Guenther Steiner explained the focus and process behind the change: “Upgraded VF-23 aerodynamics. We changed the concept of the car because what we started with, due to the new regulations last year, we could not achieve further improvements in performance.
Creating more downforce and less drag didn’t exist anymore, so we needed to change the concept, which is commonly known as the “Red Bull Concept” or the “Glide Concept”.
It’s a substantial update, and we can do it within cost because we didn’t have any updates at the beginning of the season because again, looking back, we couldn’t find any performance that we could do.“.
