The musical “On Your Feet”, inspired by the lives of musicians Emilio and Gloria Estefanwill be brought to cinema by Sony Pictures and directed by Lissette Feliciano, who will also be responsible for adapting it to the big screen, Gloria herself confirmed on Friday.

The film, which is in pre-production, will feature the Estefans, as well as John and Jordan Davis, of Davis Entertainment, as producers, according to the outlet.

The musical “On Your Feet,” directed by Jerry Mitchell, depicts the story of the Estefans, two Cuban immigrants who rose to international stardom from Miami and became icons of Latin music.

The story focuses on the character Gloria Estefan, from her arrival to the city in South Florida (USA), her beginnings on the local scene and her establishment as a singer for the Miami Sound Machine Orchestra, all filled with iconic songs such as “Conga,” “Rhythm Will Get You” and “Stand Up On your feet.”
