Promote diversity policies in science, technology and innovation

The province works on institutional linkages to promote a diversity perspective in innovation, science, and research, as well as inclusiveness in access to technology.

The Undersecretary for Diversity, Luis Maria Riccio, met with Cecilia Campioli, Director General for Gender and Diversity in the Department for Public Policy in Science and Technology of the Neuquen Agency for Innovation for Development (ANIDE). The aim of the meeting was to work together on an agenda for institutional linkages and possible actions.

They discussed, among other topics, the possibility of the undersecretary’s training team participating in a training proposal on communication from a gender and diversity perspective, which aims to communicate in the fields of science, technology and innovation.

Ricciuto said that “With ANIDE we plan actions to ensure the equality and participation of LGBT+ people in the scientific and technological system.”

“Similarly, we seek to promote a diversity perspective in research and innovation so that technological resources are inclusive and developed from a respectful approach,” he noted.

For his part, Campioli commented: “This kind of detailed work is absolutely necessary, between government institutions that share, within their guiding principles, policies for valuing and highlighting diversity, with the aim of guaranteeing rights, within the multiplicity of identities, orientations, and gender expressions that shape us as a society.”
