Colapinto, on the edge of the podium at Spielberg

Argentine driver Franco Colapinto qualified today in fourth place in the main international Formula 3 race, which was held at the Red Bull Ring in Austria for the sixth time in this category.

The man from Pilar, representing the MP Motorsport team, touched the podium by less than a second compared to the Brazilian Caio Collet (Van Amersfoort Racing) who finished third.

The race was won by Britain’s Zack O’Sullivan (Prima Racing) by +2.4 seconds. And for the Argentine, the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto (Trident), the leader of the season, came in second place.

Colapinto, 20, recovered from a difficult Saturday due to weather conditions, bringing him a 13th-place finish in the sprint race.

For the second time in a row, the Argentine managed to enter the top five in the F3 GP because he was runner-up the previous time it was held in Barcelona.

With the addition of 12 points this Sunday, Colapinto has totaled 60 points for the season and is still seventh overall, 51 behind Portoleto and 15 behind fellow Swede Dino Bijanovic (Prima Racing).

The next event in the inaugural Formula 1 category will take place in Silverstone, UK, next weekend. (to blame)
