Canadian Armed Forces aircraft will remain in the area to “respond” if necessary

Madrid, October 22 (European Press) –

The Canadian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that the last scheduled departure flight will depart on Monday from Tel Aviv, due to increased “commercial options.”

“We have closely monitored the demand for flights from Tel Aviv, and now that many Canadians have successfully left Israel, the demand is decreasing and commercial options from Tel Aviv are becoming more available. Therefore, the latest scheduled assisted flight departing from Tel Aviv will be the first scheduled flight to depart from Tel Aviv,” the minister explained. Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said in a statement that “the contract will be held on Monday, October 23.”

However, Jolie stressed that “Canadian Armed Forces aircraft will remain on standby in the region to respond quickly should conditions change and demand for auxiliary sorties increases.”

Likewise, the minister implored Canadian citizens in the Middle East to inform them that “if they want to leave Israel for security reasons, now is the time to do so.”

Canada has evacuated 1,600 people at the moment, according to the statement, in which the Foreign Ministry expressed regret that “the situation in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip remains volatile and rapidly deteriorating,” and stated that “Canada’s missions in the region are actively monitoring the situation and working with partners and governments.” “Like-minded people, as well as the international community, are working to address the situation.”
