Brazilians Amanda Simeu, Nathalie Mühlhausen and Victoria Mayor Viso defeated Canadians Leonora MacKinnon, Alexanne Verret and Ruen Xiao 40-45 in the final.
The third place on the podium in the women’s saber competition went to Venezuela, which won the bronze medal by defeating Mexico with a score of 45-42.
In the men’s saber final, Canadians Francois Cauchon, Saul Gordon and Fares Arafa defeated Americans Joseph Cohen, Andrew Dodo and Philip Dolejewicz 38-45.
Canada got revenge after finishing second to the United States in this competition at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
Venezuela also won the bronze medal in this category, defeating Colombia 45-39 in the struggle for third place.
