What everyone expected in WhatsApp is now possible: having two accounts on the same device

This new feature will be available in the coming months. (WhatsApp)

WhatsApp Introduced the new feature of logging in with two accounts at the same time. This is very useful to be able to switch between accounts, for example, business accounts and personal accounts. Now you no longer need to log out every time you stop using a device, always carry two phones or worry about sending messages from the wrong account.

To set up a second account, you need a second phone number and a SIM card, or a phone that accepts multiple SIMs or an eSIM. All you have to do is open WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to the name and then click “Add account”. You can control the privacy and notification settings in each account.

The messaging platform reminded that users should only use the official application WhatsApp And don’t download imitations or fake ones so you can have more accounts on your phone.

WhatsApp has started testing a new functionality in the latest beta versions of the app for iOS and Android, which lets you respond to other users’ statuses using custom avatars, as well as an animated version of said avatars.

In this context, as it was known in August this year, WhatsApp began working on a new function for its custom avatars, which allowed users to use them to respond to platform statuses.

Now, as the specialized portal WaBetaInfo has seen after installing the latest beta versions of internal control Department And Android, the Meta-owned social network has made these avatars available to some users to respond to ephemeral WhatsApp stories. Additionally, it has also included an option to respond to it with a dynamic version of it.

With this test, WhatsApp It adds avatars among the status response options, which add to the already existing alternatives for responding with text, emojis, stickers, and GIFs. Likewise, as with the option to respond to statuses with “emoji,” users will be able to choose an avatar from a selection of eight versions.

That is, eight avatars with different emotions will be shown, such as, for example, a face with hearts, crying laughing, sad, or with an angry expression. Through this new function, users will be able to respond to situations in a more personal and intimate way and will have the opportunity to convey their feelings more accurately.

Replies with animated avatars are limited to certain users who have installed beta 2.23.21.12 on Android phones, as well as beta 23.21.1.73 on iOS.

The messaging app has officially launched support for passwordless login through “passkeys” in the Android app, so users will be able to access their accounts through methods such as facial recognition or fingerprint. Passkeys are a login method that does not require a password.

Instead, users must authenticate their login through some biometric method available on their device. Likewise, you can also use the unlock code or pattern on the smartphone.
