Water flooded the building

Unexpected rain

According to the specialized website Weatherspark, the rainy season in the city lasts an average of 2.4 months. It extends from January 6 to March 17 with a moving interval of 31 days of rain of at least 13 mm.

In previous years, the lack of rain was so great that government officials considered building a mountain to generate rain.

Strong mobilization of this phenomenon

Because of the storms, police and emergency crews walked slowly through flooded streets, with emergency lights on in the dark morning. Lightning struck the sky, sometimes touching the top of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

Most schools in the UAE, a federation of seven kingdoms, remained closed and government employees worked from home where possible.

Many workers did not go to work, but some of them ventured out, and unfortunately for them, their cars broke down amid the accumulated water in some areas.

The authorities mobilized tanker trucks to remove water accumulated on roads and highways.
