Trinidad and Tobago with 11 soldiers facing off against Guatemala

Trinidad and Tobago and Guatemala lead a battle to reach the quarter-finals of the 2023-2024 CONCACAF Nations League.

Trinidad and TobagoGuatemala’s next competitor in the 2023-2024 CONCACAF Nations League announced today its list of players for the penultimate match of the group stage of the tournament, which will distribute tickets to the 2024 Copa America USA.

The Trinidadian team includes 11 players from the leagues of Costa Rica, the United States, Finland, Sweden, Portugal, Canada and Jamaica.

Trinidad and Tobago and Guatemala are competing to reach the quarter-finals. But life is smiling better this time for the Caribbean team since they arrived at Friday’s match leading with 6 points compared to the 4 that Guatemala has. Trinidad’s win would automatically qualify them, if no date is set, for the next round of the CONCACAF Nations League.

Guatemala must not lose if it can reach Panama alive. A win might be the ideal result, but a draw allows a team led by Luis Fernando Tena to rely on itself (beating Panama) in order to get a ticket to qualify for the quarter-finals and get closer to the Copa America tournament.
