The University of Cienfuegos will start the Sow with Science movement

Cienfuegos, Cuba. – The University of Cienfuegos Carlos Rafael Rodríguez will start on Monday the movement called Sembrar con Ciencia in which 80 selected students of different professions will participate, who will work in each of their municipalities, where the flag-raising work will take place.

They will be accompanied by scientists, experts, educators and producers under the leadership of the county government along with the municipal authorities.

They respond to Ministerial Decision No. 479 of April 2022, which provides for the implementation of the Food Sovereignty and Nutrition Education Plan, whose movement will extend until May, in order to strengthen the management of local food systems with science and innovation.

They will contribute to training municipal authorities to implement the 63 measures aimed at enhancing food production.

They will deliver a file containing the Food Sovereignty Bill documents, 63 and 100-question guides to promote discussion in the communities.

According to Dr. Xiomara García Navarro, Vice Rector for Training, next Friday, April 29, they will present the main results in a joint plenary session with the delegation of agriculture and government.

Cienfuegos will use Social Innovation Laboratories to develop the movement, based on working in multidisciplinary teams to generate STI-based solutions through the application of a tool that describes the training process for producers, cooperatives, companies and organizations. .
