Santo Domingo.- US Embassy in Santo Domingo Donated this Friday to Emergency Operations Center (EOC) At least four driving tents equipped 135 portable stretchers, blankets and sheets.
Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in the country, Patricia AguileraHe described the donations as a clear example of The deep relations of friendship and cooperation that unite the United States and the Dominican Republic. He also expressed that “The U.S. government has contributed more than $17 million in the past 20 years by donating five mobile field hospitals, four mobile emergency coordination centers, defibrillators for cardiac arrests, and this recent donation of four emergency response and coordination tents, among other teams.”
For his part, the director of the center, Dr. Juan Manuel Mendez Garcia, Received a donation of at least $35,000who thanked him on behalf of the Dominican Government, highlighting the reinforcement that these teams will provide in responding to emergencies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chargé d’Affaires, along with other officials of the US Embassy, learned about the structure and operation of the Center of Excellence, toured the emergency response facilities, and received the Distinguished Visitor Medal.
