The SASER Innovation Summit advances the ideas of the future

Sasser, once again, has become a One of the most expensive showcases of the ideas of the global innovation ecosystem with the celebration of the SASER Innovation Summitits annual event in which the best proposals are presented for the business challenges posed by the company under the Sacyr iChallenges.

The SASER Innovation Summit is therefore a space to recognize the quality of products Ideas received by innovative agents from up to seven countries (Spain, United Kingdom, United States of America, Israel, Canada, Norway and Latvia) with which the company seeks every year the best talents to develop solutions to the challenges it usually faces in its real activity.

This sixth edition of the Sacyr iChallenges that culminates in this event has become, despite its newness, One of the pillars of Sacyr’s innovation and transformation strategy. As its president Manuel Manrique explained during the closing of the SASER Innovation Summit, “Open innovation is the path towards a future in which environmental, social and economic sustainability becomes increasingly important.”

Manrique also praised the “collaboration” in the DNA of Sacyr iChallenges, considering it a “key” element. The success of Sacyr iChallenges is measured by the quality of proposals received from the innovative ecosystem. But also its quantity and the international nature that, Year after year, it has made this event a reference for the sector. In this year’s edition alone, Sasser received a total of 205 proposals from 34 countries. After a comprehensive evaluation process, the nine companies highlighted at the SASER Innovation Summit were selected for being the most innovative and making a radical difference in facing the challenges at hand. They are the following:

Distinctive proposals

The water challenge: detecting emerging contaminants of concern.

Selected proposals: AMS Analytics (USA), Kraken Sense (Canada), and Captoplastics (Spain).

The Road Challenge: Solutions to increase safety and sustainability in our infrastructure.

Selected proposals: Valerann (UK), Roadsense (Israel) and VeriToll (USA).

Construction Challenge: Knowing the geotechnical and topographic characteristics of the terrain in the early stages of the project.

Selected proposals: SPH Engineering (Latvia), Lunasonde (USA), and Emerald Geomodelling (Norway).

These solutions began to materialize on the ground during the SASER Innovation Summit ever since, in addition to being an event to recognize the most prominent people in each chapter and who are the most distinguished, It also allowed selected innovative agents to present their ideas directly (in person or electronically). In addition to participating in sessions with Sacyr experts where they can refine the definition of their pilot projects to present to the company’s senior management.
