The joint naval exercise Fraterno XXXVI between the Brazilian and Argentine navies concluded

he Thirty-sixth joint naval exercise between Argentine army and the Brazilian Navy It reached its peak in the territorial waters of this country. The goal is to generate high rates of interoperability and mutual trust when implementing common operational procedures. For this reason, task force commanders in both navies exchanged direction of the exercise to issue orders and carry out relevant actions.

The first phase of the exercises began after the operational visit of the frigates MB Unio and Independencia and the submarine S34 MB Tikuna of the Brazilian Navy to the Mar del Plata Naval Base, where coordination meetings and protocol activities were held.

Each edition of the fraternal exercises leads to successful joint action for both navies, embodying an effective presence in the waters of the South Atlantic to preserve and protect them.

After that first phase, they sailed alongside the Argentine destroyer Ara Sarande and the ocean patrol ship Ara Contra Almirante Cordero. In this transit northward through waters under Argentine jurisdiction, actions corresponding to Exercise Passex were carried out, with the participation of the S-2T Tracker aircraft, of the Naval Anti-Submarine Air Squadron.
