Morelia, Michigan, November 11, 2023.- Attracted by the music, the dance, and above all by the color that stands out meters behind them, citizens approach with anticipation the area adjacent to the Fray Antonio de San Miguel Avenue, close to the Las Tarascas Fountain.
Laid out are the unmissable and unmissable colorful carpets, made by artisans from the city of Battamban, who belong to the municipality of Tangancícuaro, and who contribute their talents to every edition of this festival.
From the perimeter of the Jardín Morelos square, towards the Las Tarascas Fountain, or vice versa, you can see these unique creations in which community members infuse their imagination and form characters that refer to this festival.
Seeds, fruits, leaves, sawdust, petals and flowers such as tulips, daffodils, sunflowers, violets, geraniums, carnations, gazania and roses give form to silhouettes, figures, objects, instruments, musical notes, temples and other characters along the journey. The Road.
The postcard is completed with decorations hanging from wires above the road, above colorful mats, which represent geometric shapes detailed with colored ribbons.
Those who pass through this area constantly stop to observe the creations, approving of the ingenuity with which the artisans present these compositions on natural and painted sawdust, a feature of the patron saint celebrations in honor of Christ the King, the patron saint of the Battamban community.
It wasn’t long before we were taking selfies and photos, with everyone snapping the photo on their mobile phones as a souvenir, but not before also stopping to watch the dances of some of the invited countries, which in this 35th edition are Italy, Chile, United Kingdom, Austria, Poland, Spain, Latvia, Russia and Brazil, Which will activate this exhibition, which will be held on Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm.
