Is “Queens” a biographical film?

Queens explores the drama of immigration and starting over abroad due to lack of opportunities in the home country.

For this reason, Reineke's audio and video story tells the story of a family separated by the absence of the father, who will try to reconnect with his daughters, but is surprised when he discovers that his ex-partner is trying to emigrate to another country, a country with minors.

In this way, Claudia makes it clear that it is not an autobiographical story, but that she had moments of inspiration in her personal life when writing the story.

“I wanted to tell the story of a family coming together before breaking up, a story of girls learning to know a father when they know they're leaving, and a father learning the sense of responsibility that comes with being a father. From a mother with a dream, but sometimes dreams have consequences.”He said.

Then he added: “I also wanted to reconnect with Peru. I left the country when I was 10 years old, came back to visit family, but it wasn't enough and Reinas was a way to be able to come back and connect with the country… in an intense, emotional but also very tangible way.”

It should be noted that the film's release date in theaters in Peru is not yet known. Currently, Reynicke's film continues to premiere at Sundance.
