Diario de Cuyo – UNSJ will have medicine from 2024, it is free and is looking for professionals with a community profile

The Supreme Council of the National University of San Juan unanimously approved the medical degree this afternoon, marking a milestone for public education in San Juan. It will be taught from 2024 and the study plan is already in place.

The approval of the new and desirable profession generated an atmosphere of joy within the building in which the Council was held.

One of the things that has been identified is that the professionals who have been trained have a social and community profile, consistent with the needs of the majority of citizens.

The study plan must be reviewed by the National Commission for Evaluation and Accreditation of Universities (CONEAU), to obtain final approval for its implementation. Given the expectations it generates among young people, it should be noted that the registration and course dates and whether there will be a quota have not yet been determined.

EUCS Director, Angel Pinto, was responsible for presenting the project to the team members, some of whom expressed the importance of establishing medicine, in a province where 50% of the population depends almost exclusively on public health, and where the relationship between the number of doctors and the population is below average. National.

Emphasis was also placed on the fact that it is not just about “increasing the number of doctors, but also about providing a concrete response to the care of diseases prevalent in society.” In this sense, the reality of the training file is to promote prevention and health promotion, through a new innovative educational model.
