Designer Carlotta Barrera carries comfort and luxury

Madrid, January 29. (EFE). Designer Carlotta Barrera presented her Spring / Summer 2021 collection that attracted the feeling of comfort and luxury everyone has sought in her wardrobe in recent months.

From her studio in London, the Asturian designer presented the “Home Feel” collection, inspired, as she points out, in two concepts that we have all redefined during these months that distinguish us from the Coronavirus: “home” and “freedom”.

“The feeling of belonging and comfort, the feeling of abandonment, lost. The longing of those who live far from home and the feeling of contentment when seeing the horizon surrounded by ours,” Parreira said in a statement.

The collection is an ode to feelings, the joy of life, and the well-being of physical and emotional health. A way to experiment, to initiate a dialogue about gender and to replace “static” male symbols with new memories of ongoing “development”.

In her new proposal, stitching was reinvented this time with a lighter cut, providing a modern and seamless silhouette.

The collection includes pieces that really symbolize the designer like tank shirts, slit shirts, knitwear and high-waisted pants.

Nostalgia is reminiscent of the brand’s roots on the coast of Spain, and hunting details are reflected throughout the collection, from knitwear in shades of blue to rope accessories and looped cords.

It’s, Barrera recounts, a relaxed, summer refresh of tuxedo shirts, the introduction of denim, and once again, a celebration of craftsmanship with hand-woven rope tops and pieces of reused leather in an entirely handmade process.

“Far from those we love, forced to withdraw into our local world and away from everyday interactions, this group reflects the joy of sharing, the proximity of a friendly hand resting on our shoulder, and the familiarity – now platonic – of embrace,” says Carlotta Barrera. EFE
