No specific reason was given for Danny leaving the show, but a spokesperson confirmed his departure earlier this year.
They said, “Danny will be leaving East Enders when his contract expires at the end of this year.”
It seems Danny just wanted to pursue other opportunities outside of the BBC, as being booked into a TV series that airs most nights of the week is a huge commitment.
Speaking to The Sun, the actor’s friend said, “Danny loves EastEnders but as an actor he feels the time is right to explore other roles.
“He’s so grateful for the show and the opportunities he had and it wasn’t a light decision, but after playing Mick for nearly nine years, he felt it was time to give Mick’s character a break.
“He’s not sure yet how to rule it out, but he’s hoping they’ll leave the door open for Mick.”
Shortly after it was confirmed that she was leaving the series, it was reported that she had signed a six-figure contract with Sky for an upcoming drama.
However, these are just the tip of the iceberg as he has several projects on the way including showing his games on Netflix.

The broadcast confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, “NEWS: Danny Dyer (MrDDyer) and Ellie Taylor (EllieJaneTaylor) will host CHEAT, a new audition program on Netflix where contestants can literally cheat to make a fortune.”
Contestants will test their general knowledge or lie to win £50,000.
The show will release next year, although there is no confirmed release date.
It’s not the only show she’ll be hosting, as the star has also signed on to host a travel show alongside her Love Island star daughter, 25-year-old Danny Dyer.
The duo will travel the world together for the series, with filming beginning in the summer of 2022.
