SANTIAGO DE CHILE, October 31 (EFE).- Brazil on Tuesday won a resounding 31-2 win over new Chile in its second women’s water polo match at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, in which it wants to challenge itself for the United States. The United States, which also achieved its second victory in the tournament with a score of 29-0 against Puerto Rico, at the Aquatic Center in the National Stadium Park, in the Chilean capital.
The Brazilian team, which won the bronze medal in Lima 2019, wants to advance in these tournaments and demonstrated its intentions by defeating the Chileans, who also lost to the Americans in their debut, 35-0.
In the second group duel that concluded on the women’s day, Brazil dominated the first and second quarters with a score of 10-0, the third with a score of 3-2 and the last with a score of 8-0, making the global score 31-2. Where local residents scored their first goals in the tournament.
The United States team previously defeated Puerto Rico 29-0 in the same region, confirming the repeat of the gold medal it won in the edition four years ago.

The Argentines lost in their first confrontation against Canada, one of the other candidates in the competition that won the silver medal in Lima 2019, while the Mexicans fell for the second time, after their first defeat against Cuba.
Canada leads Group A with a perfect record so far with six points after defeating the Cubans 24-3 in the first confrontation today.
The Canadians had fewer problems in this second game than in the first against Argentina, which they won by a less comfortable score of 14-9. With partial scores of 6-0, 7-0, 3-0, and 9-3, they prevailed in the fourth quarters to achieve their victory.
