Borik arrives at the APEC Summit, where he will meet leaders from Canada, China and Japan.

President Gabriel Borik arrived in Thailand on Wednesday to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, where he will hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders.

“Already in Thailand to represent Chile at APEC 2022 and continue progress in cultural exchange, trade integration, revitalization of the economy and more investment for Chile,” the president wrote on Twitter, attaching a photo of his arrival, which is being received by local authorities.

The President will begin his first official activities under the Forum on Thursday, November 17, the highlight of which is a meeting called Building Sustainable Economies, Companies and Communities, which will be led by Boric and the Vice President of Peru. Dina Polwart.

The head of state will visit Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and lead a symposium called Chile, Latin America, Asia, Relations, Future and Perspectives, in which students, authorities and academics will participate.

The President’s diplomatic team has run a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders and so far those confirmed are: the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida; Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and meeting with the King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn.
