Amazon Prime Video announced today that it will include “limited advertising” on movies and shows starting in early 2024 in the US, UK, Germany and Canada. Australia, France, Italy, Mexico and Spain will follow later in the year.

If you don’t want to see those ads, you’ll be able to get rid of them for an extra $3 per month, as long as you’re already an Amazon Prime member. (Amazon said prices for non-members will be announced later.

This news comes a few days after Amazon’s announcement The latest Amazon Fire TV devices at an event at HQ2 (Arlington, Virginia).

Amazon, in a post on its press website, “About Amazon”, She said her goal is to “get much less advertising than linear TV and other streaming TV providers.” However, he gave no indication of how many ads (or length) he would see per hour or half-hour, or how many times they might appear in films.

Advertising isn’t exactly new to Amazon Prime Video. You will currently see ads in your streams From Thursday Night Football, just like he does in any other NFL game. Amazon says you’ll still see ads at live events.

Amazon did not provide a specific reason for adding the ads, but said they were being done “to continue investing in engaging content and to continue to increase that investment over an extended period of time.”

Amazon said it will email Prime members about the change before running ads on the service.
