Ten years ago, a catastrophic event wreaked havoc on the world, causing the mysterious emergence of hybrids: children born partly human and part animal. Although it is not clear whether hybrids are a cause or a consequence of the virus, many humans fear and haunt them. Part deer and boy Gus (Christian Convery) lived safely in his woodland home for a decade, until he struck up an unexpected friendship with a lone wanderer named Gibberd (Nunsu Anuzi). Together, they embark on an extraordinary adventure through the ruins of America in search of answers: about Gus’ origins, Gibbard’s past, and the true meaning of homeland. But his story is full of unexpected allies and enemies, and Gus soon discovers that the lush and dangerous world outside the jungle is more complex than he ever imagined. Based on DC Comics by Jeff Lemmer, the series is produced by Jim Meckel, Beth Schwartz, Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Amanda Borrell, and Linda Moran.
