Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions gave President Donald Trump his full support at a fundraiser in Alabama last night.
Sessions was serving as the Special Guest to the Alabama GOP’s Freedom dinner when he made the heartfilled plea for President Trump. Sessions praised Trump for “relentlessly and actually honoring the promises he made to the American people.”
Sessions declared definitively:
“That’s why I still do support him”
Jeff Sessions took his praise a step further, however, when he openly blamed his own failings as the reason Donald Trump was forced to fire him from his Cabinet. He declared the reason he was fired was his own “inability to move the bureaucracy to achieve what he ought to to achieved fast enough.”
According to the Montgomery Advisor, the former AG also quoted musician Kanye West, saying, “As Kanye West says, he has dragon energy I think that’s a good description of him, really.”
Jeff Session’s 40-minute speech did not include any comments on the current Democrat impeachment attempt and he did not take questions afterward.
President Donald Trump fought with his former Attorney General continuously after Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russian Collusion investigation. Sessions was pressured into recusal by Democrats when they questioned why he hadn’t mentioned meeting then-Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak on the sidelines of an RNC event. No wrongdoing by Sessions was ever reported.
Jeff Sessions also tried to battle President Trump on Marijuana legalization, which the AG was strongly opposed to. Trump went as far as to send him to South America on the day he was scheduled to present an anti-Marijuana report.
On November 7, 2018, the day after the midterm elections, Sessions resigned at the request of President Trump.
