According to a new series of official State Department communications obtained by Citizens United, liberal Mega-donor and former Nazi realtor George Soros seemingly had complete control over the Obama State Department through the end of his presidency.
The communications were especially heavy in 2016 to then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland (Who Soros’s top executives referred to by nickname Toria). Nuland received non-stop calls and emails from Soros and his top officials trying to direct US policy concerning the Ukraine and Russia.
It’s important to note that Soros had been investing heavily in Ukrainian labor for his businesses at the time and Russian intervention threatened those investments. Most of the key information was redacted.
“Toria, here is my take on Russia’s foray into the bond markets this week, based on the market chatter I’ve been able to pick up,” Canavan wrote in an email shortly after Putin announced his interest in selling bonds to pay for his activities in Ukraine.
Just six days later, an official from Soros’s non-profit arm wrote to Nuland’s aide,
“Many thanks for sorting today’s call on such short notice — much appreciated. During the call, Mr. Soros promised A/S Nuland he would send her his draft article on migration policy for the New York Review of Books.”
Basically, Soros was getting free editorial help for an op-ed he wrote from the US State Department. Not only that, but they gave him instant priority over other matters.
Soros then sent an email chain titled “EU visa liberalization for Ukraine and Georgia” after meeting in Brussels with a top European Union official. According to the emails to State, Soros’s team wanted the U.S. to intervene to get the EU to ease visa rules for Ukrainians. Ukraine was pursuing reforms advocated by Soros at that time.
Nuland wrote back to Jeff Goldstein, Soros’s senior policy adviser on Eurasia, letting him in on a private piece of information: An unnamed EU country “has changed its mind” and she was “happy to discuss this further.”
She then seemed to show fear of Soros’s capabilities, requesting he should hold off on “intervening” directly with EU-US negotiations
“We are working it. Not sure whether intervention by GS would help.”
I don’t know about you all, but I personally believe the United States State Department should not be taking marching orders from and giving priority to ANY non-elected entities.
