UK to advise Lima 2019 Pan American Games | Sports

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Pan American and Parapan American Games in Lima 2019 (COPAL), Carlos NewhouseHe stressed that the UK government will provide advice both in organizing the competition and in preparing national athletes in preparation for this major event.

With the aim of making some Panamerica Games Newhouse Tier 1 announced that it has begun talks with the United Kingdom, a country with experience in organizing this type of international event, in order to provide the necessary support for the Pan American and Parapan American Games to be held in Peru.

“I want to clarify that the agreement between the government was reached within the framework of the legislative powers granted by the Congress of the Republic and allows us to establish links with countries that have experience in carrying out events of this scale.” He said. Carlos Newhouse.

Likewise, the President of Kobal revealed that initially they were interested in getting the support of the Canadian government, but in the end the UK proposal ended up convincing them more.

“We negotiated with the Canadian government, but the United Kingdom was chosen because it gave us a more solid proposal and would allow us to hold the Games at the highest level. We will have support at all levels,” he added.

Finally, the UK will also advise the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) with the aim of providing the correct preparation for athletes.
