On Tuesday, national and international scientists and academics will participate in the International Day in Defense of Argentine Science, which will be held at the headquarters of the Federation of University Professors (Fedun).

The meeting will be held in person at Azcuénaga 778, in the Balvanera neighborhood of Buenos Aires, starting at 3:00 p.m., and online until the end of the week. From the following link.

The conference focuses on “scientific and technological research, challenges in public universities and the work of teaching” and, in addition to FEDON, is organized by the Latin American Federation of Scientific Workers (FedLaTCi) and the Federation of University Teachers’ Unions of South America (FedLaTCi).

The event will be coordinated by Marcelo Gonzalez Magnasco, President of the Latin American and Caribbean Union of Scientific Workers.

The event is attended by former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Daniel Vilmos; President and Vice-President of the National Interuniversity Council (CIN), Daniel Greco and Victor Moreniego; and former President of Conicet Anna Maria Franchi.

There will also be Daniel Ritchie, Secretary General of Visidoas; Paula Rebecca Arteaga, from the Mexican Federation of Scientists; José Pellizan, Conicet researcher and Gairdner Prize winner; Maria Harrow-Sly, a doctoral candidate at Johns Hopkins University.

The list of participants was completed by Ellis Mullins, President of the International Federation of Scientific Workers (FMTS); José Eduardo Weisfried, physicist and research director at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS); Gloria Quevedo, a biologist at the University of Catamarca; and Susana Benítez, CGT Minister of Science and Technology.
