Peru-Canada Wheel achieved business expectations of US$1 million

Eight Canadian companies specialized in exporting agricultural products participated in the meeting, and meetings were held with 23 Peruvian companies.

In order to increase bilateral trade between Peru and Canada, the Center for External Trade (CCEX) of the Lima Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Association (STEP) organized a Business Roundtable between Peru and Canada in the agricultural sector.

Eight Canadian companies exporting agricultural products participated in this meeting, the same companies that met with 23 Peruvian importing companies, where negotiation expectations of more than 4 million US dollars were reached, leading to the conclusion of 104 business meetings.

It is worth noting that the aforementioned event was opened by Canada's Ambassador to Peru, Louis Marcotte, who stressed the importance of organizing these meetings, given that they enhance cooperation between institutions and enhance trade relations between countries.

Likewise, he highlighted the commitment of Canadian companies to doing business with their Peruvian counterparts, to strengthen the free trade agreement between the two countries.

It should be noted that in 2023, the trade balance between Peru and Canada reached US$259 million, of which US$59 million were Peruvian imports, highlighting products such as lentils, beans, peas, and others.
