To advance dialogue, strengthen the foundations of APEC policy discussions and achieve results, Ambassador Matt Murray, APEC Senior Official, will participate in a capacity-building session, facilitated by the United States Economic Cooperation Support Program For Asia and the Pacific (APEC). Economic Growth in Asia (US-SEGA) Conference, which will be held in Lima, Peru, from September 14-15, 2023.

This session will provide invaluable information and facilitate knowledge transfer in support of Peru’s vision as a host economy for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in 2024. The collaboration will build on the extensive experience the United States gained while hosting APEC this year. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions to share best practices and innovative ideas.

Throughout the capacity building session, US-SEGA will work closely with Peruvian government officials to integrate the findings of recent roundtables while taking into account trends, good practices and identified interests, which will allow them to adopt a more robust and informed approach in its preparations for APEC.

The United States is pleased to partner with Peru as it prepares to assume the important role of hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in 2024. We look forward to a very productive and mutually beneficial cooperation across all levels of our governments.
