Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Foreign Trade, Luz María de la Mora held a virtual meeting with the Deputy Trade Representative of the United States, Jamie White, to talk about the difference in interpretation of royalties from the auto sector, seasonality and energy issues.
in the frame T-MEC Undersecretaries MeetingThe Ministry of Economy stated that it was agreed during the bilateral meeting on the importance of the event that called for holding them and working on the ongoing dialogue efforts between the two countries.
“They talked about various issues related to the two countries, How is the difference in the interpretation of the rules of origin in the automotive sector, the tax exemption for electric vehicles contained in the initiative Rebuild better, seasonality, as well as energy-related issues,” the agency detailed.
In this sense, the Federal Agency added that at the meeting Agreed to maintain a meaningful dialogue to further strengthen business relations between Mexico and the United States.
On the other side, De la Mora also met separately with the Deputy Minister for International Trade of Canada, David Morrison, as part of a meeting of T-MEC Secretaries, to speak about the concerns that both countries share about the tax credit the United States is seeking to implement.
