Supply chains are complex, and tackling EU deforestation regulation can be just as complex. Our Biodiversity Team Provides advice and technical support to our customers on their path to creating deforestation-free supply chains.
To do this, we use Accountability frameworkA consensus guide to achieving ethical supply chains in agriculture and forestry. It provides clear guidance on implementing, monitoring, verifying and reporting on the progress companies make in addressing key environmental and social risks. Its accessibility and strong guidance have now been incorporated into leading initiatives such as the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and the CDP.
The Accountability Framework was launched in 2019 by a global coalition of environmental and human rights organizations, also known as the AFI Alliance. The framework is based on international standards, good practices and broad consensus among different actors. It represents the AFI Alliance consensus, as well as forecasts from leading companies, financial institutions and international standards.
