Canadian carrier Air Canada has announced the opening of two routes to the new Felipe Carrillo Puerto de Tulum International Airport, in Quintana Roo, starting in May 2024, joining other major Mexican and foreign carriers.

The Canadian national airline said in a statement that these lines will connect the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal to the newly opened airport, as part of its plans to increase its capacity during the summer of 2024.

“Air Canada has become the first Canadian airline to offer service to Tulum, with flights from Toronto and Montreal to the newest airport on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula,” he said.

There will be flights between Toronto and Tulum on Fridays and Sundays starting May 3, 2024, while the Montreal-Tulum route will have two flights on Saturdays starting May 4.

This announcement comes after the Mexican government opened the international airport of the Tulum Entertainment Center on December 1, which is one of its symbolic actions through which it hopes to increase the number of visitors to the Riviera Maya tourist area.
